Tiny Homes – How Important Things Are

This short article is designed to get you thinking about How Important Things Are?

Aging is inevitable. And as we age, we are faced realization that we may be “clearing out” the collections and possessions of our parents after they pass or are placed in long term care. Things they have accumulated over the years and stuck in the closet, likely forgotten. They either didn’t want the item anymore or didn’t want to give something away that was given to them out of guilt, emotional attachment or some other personal reason. Was more importance place on How Important Things Are rather than on relationships during their lifetime?

This is something to think about when deciding if tiny home living is for you. I don’t believe it should be the most important factor but as we collect more and more “things” somebody has to take care of them at the end of life. A tiny home significantly reduces that potential burden on family members.

This isn’t a topic we like to think about. However disposal and transfer of personal items at end of life does have to be addressed. And maybe it’s a time for us to reflect on the importance we place on things rather than our relationships.
